Mischief, Mayhem, Kool-Aid

Meet Jill.

Jill is a typical soccer mom.

Jillís life is ending one second at a time.

This is her story:

Itís Tuesday afternoon.

I know its Tuesday because Iím washing Meganís practice Jerseys.

I walk into my living room.

I see a woman.

A large woman.

At first I am nervous.

A total stranger in my living room.

Soon I relax, overtaken by her personality.

I feel as though I had known her my whole life.

She speaks of her inner child and consciousness.

I listen intently.

She talks of tragedy and hope.

Love and humility.

God and spirit.

The conversation seems to last an hour.

That is how I met Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah was full of touching stories.

Oprah invited me into her circle of friends.

Thatís how I became a member.

A member of Book Club.
